    By Eoin Colfer

    Recommended by Danit Rich

One by one, Retrival One fell to the blows raining down from the huge manservant. The man stood back to admire his work; scared, definitely; dead, probably not. Artemis Fowl II posesses the greatest mind of his generation, but uses his intellect divising ingenious plots. In order to restore his family’s fortune, which was lost when his father disappeared at sea, he consults the fairy bible that he stole from a sprite during one of his ventures. He manages to capture L.E.P.recon captain, Holly Short, thus submerging himself in a hidden world. Can his search for fortune be at an end? I liked it when Mulch, a convict tunneling dwarf, escapes the clutches of the Lower Elements Police. If you like discovering “reasons” for Earth’s phenomenons, you will love this book. This book is an amazing blend of imagination, plots, and childish fantasy.

Have you ever been grossed out while swimming in the ocean by pollution? Well a boy names Noah was , but he did something about it. A casino boat called the Coral Queen was dumping waste illegally into the ocean. My favorite part of the book was when Noah’s dad gets out of jail for trying to sink the Coral Queen. If you like books about saving the ocean then you will love this book. This book reminded me of when the ocean gets really brown and murky. Someone might pick this book because it is the same author as the book Hoot.

    The Westing Game

The Westing Game by Ellen Raskin is a great book of a mysterious murder of a well known and wealthy man. Sixteen ordinary people living in the same apartment building are partnered with each other and are given a series of clues and $1000 dollars to solve the case. The first team to solve it gets the dead man’s fortune of $2,000,000, but will the gruesome “game” kill some of the players? This book reminds me of great real life mystery crimes and cases just willing to be solved. I recommend this book to readers who can take suspension and are willing to solve an impossible crime. This book combines murder, money, and a crazy game that many can enjoy.

    By Rick Riordan

    Recommended by Alex Burr
Are you fascinated by Greek mythology? If you are, you’ll love the Percy Jackson and the Olympian series. It is about a boy named Percy Jackson who turns out to be a half-blood. A half-blood is a son or daughter of a Greek god or goddess and a mortal. Percy is the son of Poseidon. Throughout the series, Percy goes on quests with other half-bloods. The main thing that they are trying to do is to stop the evil Titan lord (a.k.a. the father of the big three: Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades). My favorite part in the series is in the second book (The Sea of Monsters) when the gang has to save their friend, Grover (a satyr) from a Cyclops. If you like adventure, Greek mythology, and mystery, you will LOVE this series. You should choose this series because it is filled with adventure, Mystery, Greek mythology, and much more.

With the help of an Amish farm girl named Jake, they are able to crack the code of the time cavern and figure out what happened to this unfortunate young boy. One of my favorite parts is when Aaron falls into a vortex on a one trip on which he may never return. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and you will never want to put it down. It’s a spectacular sci-fi mystery that is amazing, exciting, and thrilling, that you will die to read The Time Cavern. This Story will also give you facts about The modern day universe like where a star is and how far away it is from Earth or what the word Google means. My favourite part was when Humphrey seeks out of his cage again and tries to get into Og’s cage and realized that he can’t so he stands on the outside and tries to get his attention but never does. Soon or later Humphrey gives up and is happy that the kids still pay attention him more than the frog. I recommend this book to people that love animals and a little laugh. Would you ever like to get into and discover the drama of middle school? Well, in the story Mother-Daughter Book Club, four girls come together to form a book club for the beginning of middle school. Every girl comes from different cliques. Meagan and her three friends are all very popular. Jess (goat girl) is friends with Emma and these girls aren’t so popular. Last there is Cassidy who is a total tomboy and jock. You would figure Cassidy would dress nicer because her mom was a model and has a lot of money. As these girls start middle school they discover the world of drama. From stolen journals to their first dance. I enjoyed the part where Cassidy, Jess, and Emma pull a prank on Meagan on Halloween. Even I was laughing. If you like books that you can’t put down, this is one of them. If you do decide to read this book, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

My favorite part of the book is when the children sneak onto the giant boat and put lots of red food coloring in the toilet so when dusty dumps the waste the water will turn red, proving Noah’s Father innocent. I thought this part of the book clever and interesting on how the children were tricky when stopping the pollution. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for an entertaining novel. Also, the author of this book has also written two other equally popular books, hoot and Scat. The key around her neck wasn’t just to her old house, but to something else. Ruby was always independent. She always took care of herself. Her mother never took good care of her. When her mom disappears she has to move to her sisters house everything changes.
My favorite part of the book is when Ruby jumps over the fence and meets a boy named Nate.

Megan is the smart one who is forced to go to her grandma’s house. Matt and Megan are cousins. They do NOT get along. But as you get deeper, and deeper into their feelings you may begin to see that they don’t hate each other. While reading you just cant help but cry. Although the storey isn’t true, the author makes you feel like you are one of the characters. This book reminds me of the Harry Potter series. If you like those book you will probably like this one. If you love creepy but heartwarming books this one is definitely for you. The book has many parts where you don’t know what will happen next. Have you ever had a friend who told you that you where surrounded by zombies? I didn’t think so. In the book Zombie Blondes that actually does happen and the zombies are not only dead, but beautiful as well. Hannah has moved so many times, she barely remembers all of the places names. Eventually, she moves into what she thinks is a ghost town, but she is mistaken. It is not a ghost town, but a zombie town. At her new school, she is desperate to fit in with the popular crowd. She makes but one friend a weird guy named Lukas, who keeps telling her that zombies surround them. She doesn’t believe him and still strives to be popular. This is probably her biggest mistake. My favorite part is when she is finally convinced that the popular girls at her school are zombies and is forced to make a huge sacrifice to escape their deadly grasp. This part reminds me of how making the right friends is vital to social and all-around survival. I think that anyone who loves action and adventure with a pinch of mystery will love this book. Recommended by Nash Hale

Have you ever wanted to be a pro surfer, or even know how to surf? Well Pipe Dreams, by Kelly Slater, teaches you all that plus one! In Pipe Dreams, Kelly tells about his life story from age one until now. Growing up in Cocoa Beach, Florida, Kelly was used to horrible waves but by the time he was 13 and sponsored, he was riding waves in Tahiti, Bells Beach and even Pipeline. Even though Kelly Slater is a pro surfer, his biography tells about his life outside of surfing like girls, family issues, friends and other activities. Even after Kelly won consecutive world titles, he continued to get injured and started losing contests. Once that started to happen, he lost some of his fame and started to think about quitting forever. My favorite part of the book is when Kelly Slater wins his first world title. He is so excited that he does not know what to do. When his family and fans come down from the beach into the water to carry him to the stage to get his award, it is very amazing. It makes you wish you were Kelly Slater at that time. I recommend this book to anyone who is either a fan of surfing or of Kelly Slater. You should be very mature if you want to read this book because it includes some inappropriate material. So if you want to find a fantastic biogropahy about Kelly Slater, you should definitely read Pipe Dreams.
